Kebaya For The World; Moulin Rogue in Bali
The Kebaya for The World event was organized on the 26th November 2010 at Moulin Rogue,Bali. Our fashion designer introduced various kind of kebaya combination inspired from all over the world. The elegant and timeless Peranakan kebaya takes centrestage in Kebaya For the World in Moulin Rogue in Bali that traces its origins and lineage back 500 years. Through dress and fashion, the exhibition connects Peranakan culture with the ancient trading communities of the Indian Ocean and maritime Southeast Asia since the 15th century, uncovering the cross-cultural influences in the development of the kebaya and its evolution into its present style and form. From its use of delicate fabrics, intricate embroidery to fine lacework, the varying kebaya styles reflect the diversity of cultural influences that the garment has absorbed over time.
